The 2015 Downtown Athens Christmas Parade Video
Last week, the Classic City, my fair city of Athens, Georgia delivered what I think is their best performance yet. The 2015 Downtown Athens Christmas Parade.
The weather was crisp and cool. The tree lined streets glistened with tiny lights that seemed to go on for miles. There were marching bands, dancers, beautifully crafted floats and yes, my friends, there was Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Santa arrived this year on a majestic horse drawn sleigh with his mighty clydesdales standing in for the reindeer who were resting up for a most important future performance.
Many of us ventured out to experience the magic with our families and friends. The highlight of course was being able to experience the special evening, watching the eyes and faces of our little ones light up with joy with each passing float.
I congratulate you Athens, Georgia. Even after all of these years, you continue to amaze me with your splendor.
See you next year…oh, and Merry Christmas!

Equipment Used For This Video
Just in case people ever wonder, I like to share the camera setting and editing information on the videos I create.
- Camera – iPhone 6s Plus. Recording at 1080p x 60 fps.
- Editing Software – iMovie version 10.1, compatible with OS X El Capitan.
- Color Grading – Exported iMovie file to Cameo App for iPhone and set it to Vivid.
- Song Selection – Akashic Records, “Christmas Medley Fun-Deck The Halls”. Rights purchased through Jamendo.com
- Video Hosting – Vimeo Pro
This was a very straight forward edit. Apple’s iMovie is perfect for an edit such as this when you’re timing the transitions on the music. It’s easy to manipulate, make changes and upload to your iCloud. This makes for a simple download to your iPhone.
If I could change one thing, it would be the part that I slowed down right at the end of the video.
This caused my overall video to not be completely 1080p HD, instead, since I slowed down the original 60 fps video that I shot, the upload resolution will only be in 720p. The good news is that is still considered HD, the bad news, well, the fact that I didn’t think of that until I was completely finished.
Many of us take video of events similar to what you see here. Should you have your own footage and need a quick edit. Stop by my pricing page or shoot me an email. I’d be happy to talk with you about it.
Thanks for reading (and watching)![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
